CALL FOR PAPERS

 

RATIONALE

Since 2016, entrepreneurship and innovation have been among the key words of Vietnam as reflected in the National Development Strategy, national programmes proposed by Government, ministries, local departments and agencies, activities of international development, incubation, investment connection, investment attraction, research and teaching in universities. In addition to Innovation and entrepreneurship, socio-economic development of the country involve an ultimate goal of sustainable development, based on three pillars - economic, social and environmental.

Promoting innovative and social impact start-up a priority pillar of Project 844 - Ministry of Science and Technology (Developing the national innovative start-up ecosystem), promoting Social creativity, social entrepreneurship is also one of the three pillars of Project 1665 - Ministry of Education and Training (Supporting start-up students). It has been 5 years since the Government's National Startup Program (2016-2020), 05 years from the amended Enterprise Law with the introduction of social enterprises definition (2015-2020), 02 years since social start-up began to be widely implemented in the Vietnamese university system through Project 1665, 2020 is a good time to look back on achievements, successes and unsuccessful efforts in building an innovative startup ecosystem in Vietnam from the national level, to industries and localities, in research, teaching, incubation as well as the business sector, contributing to socio-economic development in general.

In 2020, National Economics University represented by its Center for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship in cooperation with British Council Vietnam, National Startup Support Centre of Vietnam (NSSC), French-Vietnamese Center for Management Education (CFVG) organizes The International Conference on “Innovation and Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Development Goals: A journey of 5 years and the future ahead”.

 OBJECTIVES 

  • Sharing and learning about models, research methods on innovation and entrepreneurship.
  • Analyzing and assessing the state of startup ecosystems, innovative ecosystems, university startup ecosystems, social-entrepreneurship ecosystems
  • Learning international experience in developing innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship
  • Drawing lessons from successes and failures, elaborating recommendations and suggestions for developing entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainable development.
  • A forum for discussion among key stakeholders of the innovation, creativity and start-up ecosystem, including policy makers, researchers, startups, supporting – incubating - promoting organizations, investors, lecturers, and students, creating a platform for 4-home partners (Government, researchers-lecturers, businesses and civil society organizations) to become more efficient in the future.

Social Innovation - Social Entrepreneurship - Social Entrepreneurship

  • Models and forms of creativity and entrepreneurship that create social impact (social enterprises, non-profit organizations, inclusive businesses, social impact businesses, start-up impact businesses), corporate social responsibility);
  • Assessing the current situation of social enterprises after 5 years since the Enterprise Law 2014;
  • International experience in developing social enterprise sector to meet social development requirements;
  • Social entrepreneurship ecosystem;
  • Start-up, innovation and creativity with sustainable development;
  • Typical social enterprise situations that meet the social development requirements in Vietnam;
  • Social creativity, social entrepreneurship in universities;
  • Impact investment and credit, microfinance;
  • Measuring social impact.

 

Personal innovation capacity

  • Individual creative and innovation capacity: concepts, characteristics, evaluation criteria, sources of formation, influencing factors;
  • Assessment of the individual's innovation capacity;
  • Solutions to improve individual's innovation capacity;
  • Theory and practice of students' creative and innovation capacity in higher education institutions: Evaluation criteria, influencing factors, the reality, and solutions to improve creative capacity of the student;
  • The ecosystem for developing students' creativity and innovation capabilities in higher education institutions.

 

Submission of papers

  • Submission of Full paper or Extended Abstract or presentation slides: July 18th 2020
  • Submissions are to be sent to: csie@neu.eud.vn
  • Formal of full paper: Article in English or Vietnamese, with a capacity of 3000 to 6000 words, Times New Roman font, font size 13, A4 paper size, Unicode encoding, line spacing 1.3, left margin 3 cm, margin top, right margin, bottom margin 2 cm.
  • Structure: Name of the article; full name of author, academic title, degree, name of the work unit; summary of the article (no more than 250 words); keywords (3-5 words); the content of the article (introduction and conclusion); references; appendix (if any). At the end of the article, the author specified the email address, phone number for the Organizing Committee to contact.

Conference proceedings:

  • Qualified English articles will be published in the Proceedings of International Scientific Conference with the ISBN issue number.
  • Qualified Vietnamese articles will be published in the Proceedings of the National Scientific Conference with the ISBN issue number.
