CFVG holds 2016 AAPBS Academic conference in Hanoi

On May 5-6, 2016, CFVG and National Economics University will co-host the 2016 AAPBS Academic conference titled “Advancing the growth for emerging business schools” in Hanoi.
On May 5-6, 2016, CFVG and National Economics University will co-host the 2016 AAPBS Academic conference titled “Advancing the growth for emerging business schools” in Hanoi. Professor Tran Tho Dat, The president of the National Economics University and Professor Jean Louis Pare, Director of CFVG will welcome 75 representatives, including deans, professors and senior managers, from foreign business schools and Vietnamese universities to attend the event. At this conference, a representative from the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) will deliver a keynote speech on “Developing higher education quality in Vietnam”.
In 02 days of conference, 03 panel discussions will be organized on critical topics on advancing the growth for emerging business schools: (1) “Business schools in emerging countries: Opportunities, Challenges and Trends” ; (2) “Key success factors for emerging business schools” . (3) Leveraging the Entrepreneur Sector for Business,
Speakers at panel discussions include Deans from foreign business schools (Professor Jikyeong Kang, President and Dean of the Asian Institute of Management (AIM); Professor Chew Ging Lee, Dean of Nottingham University Business School (Malaysia); Professor Howard Thomas, Director of the Academic Strategy and Management Education Unit, Singapore Management University; Professor Hirokazu Kono, Dean of Keio Business School (Janpan); Professor Xiongwen Lu, Dean of School of Management, Fudan University and Professor Sung Joo Park, Kaist College of Business) and Vietnamese high-ranked manager (Mr. Tran Trong Kien, Chairman of Thien Minh Group; Ms. Nguyen Dang Minh Chung COO of VNN Plus; Ms. Tran Thi Chi, Marketing Director of Golden Gate; Mr. Pieter de Weerd, General Manager of Pullman Hotel; Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Huyen , HR advisor of VP bank)
4 working groups will be moderated for the purpose of building AAPBS together by Prof. Betty Chung, AAPBS Executive Director. Through working group engagement, AAPBS members will provide inputs and expertise on 4 critical topics: Case Center; MBA Connection and Internship; Membership; and Collaborative Curriculum.

AAPBS hosts two annual conferences within the Asia-Pacific region: the Academic Conference held every May and the Annual Meeting in November. The conferences are hosted by member schools by Council invitation and provide excellent learning and networking opportunities leaders and opportunity to meet and discuss key issues related to the development of business education locally and globally. With corporate key note speakers, members are able to hear directly from the end user.

By hosting the 2016 AAPBS academic conference in Vietnam, CFVG is strengthening his leading position in management higher education. This international conference will be an occasion CFVG to learn and share idea and expertise from successful business schools in the region. It’s also a bridge to connect CFVG with huge teaching and researching resources from AAPBS members, which can open up more international cooperation and exchange programs in the future.
