On December 8th, at National Economics University (NEU), Hanoi, the CFVG MMSS Scientific Co-Director Prof. Jean-Pierre Helfer awarded with Medal of Honor for the Cause of Education by Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training.

Prof. Tran Tho Dat – Director of NEU holds the honor to award the medal to Prof. Helfer while expressing sincere thank and gratefulness for his outstanding and selfless contribution in developing MMSS as a top specialized master program in Vietnam since 2005. Prof. Dat also happily shares that awarding the medal to an international lecturer is a particularly exceptional case.

In response to the moment, Prof. Helfer highly values the cooperation between NEU and higher education in Sorbonne University in Paris which is long and rich in many activities and requires a lot of trust between institutions and individuals. He sends this honor to all professors of his home university.

Interestingly, Prof. Helfer shows his emotional connection to Vietnam country. In the end of 1946, Vietnamese President Ho Chi Minh arrived in France and stayed at his parents-in-law house for a long time. During that period his wife – Madame Elizabeth Helfer-Aubrac was born. Especially, his father Mr. Raymond Aubrac was also given the Order of Ho Chi Minh award in 2012. “The close and friendly ties between NEU, CFVG and myself are built on a family basis”, said Prof. Helfer.

For continuous support and contribution of Prof. Helfer and Sorbonne University, Prof. Dat believes that coming EMU project of CFVG will open a wide opportunity of cooperation and further development for MMSS in Vietnam. Again, he thanks Prof. Helfer and cheers him with health and happiness.
